Synopsis

Crippled by the motorcycle accident that took away his lover, a broken young man decides to rebuild the machine that caused him so much pain.  On a last ride deep into the Canadian wilderness, an unexpected encounter pushes him to confront both his personal and cultural past.
A hybrid story that flirts between fiction and documentary,  AUTRE CHOSE (Something Else) is a meditation of a lonesome man who confronts the weight of his story within a silent territory scarred in his own image.

Étienne Lacelle

Étienne Lacelle is a filmmaker from Quebec. His young cinematographic vision stood out with Les Beiges, winner of the best Canadian student film at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (FNC) and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2017. Since then, he has been exploring and developing his relationship with reality as source material in the creation of cinema. He has been a filmmaker-mentor for the Wapikoni mobile for 5 years. AUTRE CHOSE (Something Else) is his first short fiction.
