Synopsis

“Alice is my daughter, who comes from China. The big noses, it’s us: the expression many Asian prople use to decribe people from the West. Alice found her family in Quebec, like 5000 other since the early 90’s. Shot on a 10 year period, my documentary presents the experience of 8 of these exceptional families. With Alice, Léa, Julia, Adèle, Miganne, Kayli, Jeanne, Anne, Lou-Qian, Giulia and their parents, I tried to learn and tell how those transplanted lotus flowers adapted to the North American soil, what were the parents’ challenges and how this new wave of Québécois contributed to build tomorrow’s society.” Nicole Giguère
