A Road-Movie on rails, Ocean offers both a journey between Montreal and Halifax, as well as a sensory evocation of the intimate experience of travelling.
Synopsis
The Océan, a majestic luxury train, is the only passenger train between Montréal and Halifax. The film records a lyrical and dreamy journey from an intimate perspective – of sensations, fleeting moments and the minutia of life. Travelling a wide landscape, we stop to reminisce with local inhabitants whose testimonies belong to a bygone age.

Catherine Martin
Catherine Martin écrit et réalise tous ses films, tant en documentaire qu’en fiction. Ses films ont été présentés dans de nombreux festivals internationaux (Berlin, Toronto, Oberhausen, Nyon, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Karlovy Vary, etc.). Ils ont remporté des prix au Québec et au Canada comme à l’étranger. Depuis 2017, elle travaille seule à la caméra, au son et au montage en assurant la production et la réalisation d’essais documentaires.
