Born in France in 1963, Alain Cliche moves to Canada that year. During the ‘80s, he works as a DJ at radio stations and clubs, including the Foufounes Électriques in Montréal. From 1986 to 1990, Communications BA at l’Université Laval (Québec City). From 1990 to 1995, he works as an advertising copy writer for various companies in Montréal and Québec City. In 1996, he abandons advertising for a scriptwriter course at l’INIS . His short film — La pesanteur de l’air (The Weight of Air)— wins a special jury prize at the Yorkton Film Festival, Sakatchewan, in 1997. From 1997 to 2000, he develops several film projects, including a feature film about his turbulent teenage years and a documentary on the advertising industry, both scripts financed by SODEC . In 2002, he starts writing a novel — Accro vinyle.In 2003, he starts developing — with Érik Cimon — the Quebec Punk documentary project. In October 2006, Accro vinyle is published by Éditions Trois-Pistoles Publishing. He receives numerous favorable critics from the print and electronic press. In January 2007, he starts writing his second novel, an adaptation from his adolescent period script; it will also be published by Éditions Trois-Pistoles in 2009.
