François Jacob is a documentary filmmaker based in Montreal. After starting out in fiction filmmaking, he embarked on extensive documentary explorations in Siberia and the Caucasus. His interest in the relationship between human communities and their geographic, historical, and cultural environments leads him to question the lines of tension in our century and the mechanisms at the heart of how the world works. He works with the production collective Les Films de l’Autre and advocates for the production of ambitious, artisanal, and independent films.
