Synopsis
While travelling the roads of the Quebec countryside, one often sees off-beat structures and fabulous installations. These curious constructions are the work of local people who, even with no artistic training, are compelled by an almost-visceral desire to create. This film shows us the work and everyday life of three such artists. Harshly judged by their compatriots, they face the devastating reality of living on the fringe of a society that seeks to ostracize them at all cost.

While studying visual arts at university, Pascale Ferland directed several art films, which earned her a few academic prizes .Her first feature film, Something like immortality (2003) was nominated for the Jura of the best documentary. She then founded the production company Qui Vivra Verra Films, in order to produce her own films, like L'Arbre aux branches coupées (2005) which was shot in Russia. After the bankruptcy of the independent film distibutor Cinema Libre in 2005, she fouded with other filmmakers Les Films du 3 mars, which distributes documentaries and arthouse films. She directed Adagio pour un gars en bicycle (2008), which was – like her other films – very well received by critics and was selected in many national and international film festivals. In 2007 she received the « Victor-Martyn-Lynch-Staunton » award, rewarding the exceptional quality of her productions..
